The Actor’s Working Session

An internationally focused one-on-one session to strengthen your craft, clarify your choices and support your work across stage, screen and career.

The Actor’s Working Session is a practical, professional one-on-one designed to support actors working in any location across screen, theatre and musical theatre - whether you’re preparing an audition, developing material or refining your professional approach to the industry.

Sessions also allow space for broader professional development where helpful; this might include preparing for meetings with agents or casting directors, refining how you present yourself in the room or at industry events, selecting or reviewing headshots, or developing strategies for sustainable preparation and confidence under pressure. The aim is always to support you as a working actor - not just for one moment, but over time.

Drawing on a broad toolkit developed through extensive professional training and real-world international screen and stage experience, the focus remains on practical and repeatable work that strengthens your instincts and sharpens craft.

This is not a performance class. It’s a working space - calm, focused and collaborative - where actors clarify their process, deepen their craft and leave with tools they can apply immediately to both their work and their career. Many clients return for ongoing development, but every session is self-contained and immediately useful. Scheduling accommodates time zones for international actors and those working abroad.

This session is ideal for:

  • Actors preparing auditions or self-tapes (screen or stage)

  • Theatre or musical theatre performers transitioning to screen

  • Actors developing scenes for personal growth outside auditions

  • Drama school graduates bridging into the professional industry

  • Working actors seeking sharper, more consistent work

  • Creatives preparing for agent meetings, castings, or career pivots

Having the opportunity to learn under the teaching of Joel was a pleasure and an amazing experience. It was the first course in a while I have done where I was able to get real feedback that I know I will be able to utilise long term in my acting career. Highly recommend this course to actors who are eager to learn and expand their skills and receive key first hand industry advice.

Joel’s masterclass is a must do for all actors, regardless of experience. His ability to bring out the best acting in each attendee is remarkable. If you aren’t sure if this course is worth doing, I can assure you, it most definitely is!
— Elizabeth-Anne Joseph, Student
As a coach his preparedness, focus and balanced humility is extraordinary. Joel selflessly shares his considerable knowledge of acting and the industry, pitching to each student appropriately and allowing transformations in each actor.

Joel’s passion is infectious and I couldn’t help but be motivated after each session, and beyond.
